Natalie Giannopoulos (she/her)
is a Berlin-based set designer and visual artist who crafts worlds for the stage, screen, and public space. She has a diverse background, having contributed to a wide range of film and theater projects within the art department.
Through her own work—often experimental poetry films based on her writings—she processes and critiques pressing sociopolitical issues, including domestic and gender-specific violence. Her art serves as a powerful medium for expressing thoughts and emotions that arise from events, particularly those in her home country of Greece. Themes of identity, queer joy, memory, and work culture have also been central to her work. Natalie’s artistic practice is defined by a deep interest in political theatre and performing arts in the public space, themes she continuously examines and explores.
Natalie holds a master’s degree in „Stage design and scenic space“ from the Technical University of Berlin. Her most recent work includes the stage design for the new dance and drag performance „Dancing Our Queer Utopia,“ a project where she also guided performers in developing their own costumes in a series of workshops. In the fall of 2025, she will resume her role as a stage design assistant at the prestigious Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz in Berlin.
